【摘要】:Thistestmethodisusedtodeterminethedegreeandrateofaerobicbiodegradationofplasticmaterials(includingformulationadditives)exposedtopre-grownpopulationofatleasttenaerobicmarinemicroorganismsofknowngenera.Thetestmethodisconductedundercontrolledlaboratoryconditions.Thistestmethodisdesignedtoindexpolymermaterialsthatarepossiblybiodegradable,relativetoapositivereferencematerial,inanaerobicenvironment.Thistestmethodisapplicabletoallpolymermaterialscontainingatleast20%carbonthatarenotinhibitorytothemicroorganismspresentinamarineenvironment.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.ThereisnosimilarorequivalentISOstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
